How to export a whole sequence of ChemStation runs to CSV at once

A sequence of 30 injections is 30 .D folders. Exporting each run from the data system, signal by signal, is slow and easy to get wrong. Nagura Lab opens the whole folder in one go and writes every signal of every run to CSV in a single ZIP.

Open the whole sequence

  1. Open Nagura Lab, click Open data and pick Folder. Choose the folder that holds your runs, or drag it onto the page. Every .D folder inside is opened. Not sure where the data is? See find a ChemStation run on disk.
  2. To add more, use Add more. .dx and .cdf files and the other formats Nagura Lab reads can be mixed with the .D runs.
  3. Below the chart, the Batch tools card appears.

Download everything

Under Export everything, click Download all N runs (ZIP of CSV). The ZIP is built on your computer and saved as nagura-batch-export.zip. It holds:

A diode-array or mass-spectrum file adds one chromatogram: the mean over its wavelength range for DAD, the total ion chromatogram for MS (DAD1.UV_overview.csv, MSD1.MS_overview.csv). To get the full spectra matrix of every run instead, tick Include full DAD/MS spectra matrices (large) before you download; those files are big.

The run table

Download run table (CSV) saves nagura-runs.csv, the same table that is shown on the page: run, sample, date, method, vial, operator and signals. It is a quick log of what a sequence contained.
